NPCIL Kakrapar Apprentice Recruitment 2026 - Apply Offline for 337 Trade, Technician and Graduate Apprentice Posts
Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), Kakrapar Gujarat Site, has issued the official Apprentice Recruitment 2026 notification for engagement of 337 apprentices under the Apprentices Act, 1961. This is an important apprenticeship opportunity for candidates who want structured one-year training in a Government of India enterprise under the Department of Atomic Energy. The engagement is for Trade Apprentice, Technician Apprentice and Graduate Apprentice categories at Kakrapar Gujarat Site, Anumala, Ta. Vyara, Dist. Tapi, Gujarat. Candidates should understand clearly that this is apprenticeship training and not regular permanent employment. However, because the training is offered by NPCIL, the recruitment is highly useful for fresh ITI, diploma and graduate candidates who want recognized industrial training, PSU exposure, and a strong addition to their profile before moving to future government, PSU or private sector opportunities.

As per the official notification, the total number of apprentice positions is 337. Out of these, 237 vacancies are for Trade Apprentices, 33 vacancies are for Technician Apprentices, and 67 vacancies are for Graduate Apprentices. Trade Apprentice posts are available in Fitter, Electrician, Electronics Mechanic, Welder, Instrument Mechanic, COPA/PASAA, Machinist, Turner, AC Mechanic and Diesel Mechanic trades. Technician Apprentice seats are available in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics, Instrumentation and Electrical disciplines. Graduate Apprentice vacancies are available in Chemical, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Chemistry, Human Resources, Contracts & Material Management, and Finance & Accounts disciplines. This wide discipline coverage makes the notification relevant for both technical and select non-technical graduate candidates.

The stipend is also clearly defined in the notice. Trade Apprentices will receive Rs. 10,560 per month for one-year ITI trades and Rs. 11,040 per month for two-year ITI trades. Technician Apprentices will receive Rs. 10,900 per month. Graduate Apprentices will receive Rs. 12,300 per month. The duration of apprenticeship training is maximum one year. Candidates should also note that NPCIL has specifically stated that no hostel, transport or residential accommodation facility will be provided to selected apprentices. Therefore, applicants from outside Tapi district or Gujarat should assess practical stay and travel arrangements in advance before applying.

The age criteria are different for each apprentice category and are to be calculated as on 06 April 2026, which is the last date for submission of application. For Trade Apprentice posts, the age should be between 18 and 24 years. For Technician Apprentice posts, the age should be between 18 and 25 years. For Graduate Apprentice posts, the age should be between 18 and 26 years. The advertisement also provides age relaxation as per Government of India orders. SC/ST candidates are eligible for 5 years relaxation and OBC (NCL) candidates for 3 years relaxation. PwBD candidates are also eligible for additional relaxation as mentioned in the notification. Candidates claiming reservation or relaxation must produce valid supporting certificates in the prescribed Central Government format at the time of document verification.

Eligibility should be checked carefully before applying. For Trade Apprentices, the candidate should have completed full-time regular ITI in the relevant trade. For Technician Apprentices, the candidate should have completed full-time regular diploma or equivalent in the concerned engineering or technology discipline. For Graduate Apprentices, the candidate should have completed full-time regular graduation or equivalent in the concerned engineering/technology stream, and in the notified general streams wherever applicable, such as B.Sc. Physics, B.Sc. Chemistry, Human Resources, Contracts & Material Management, and Finance & Accounts. NPCIL has also mentioned an important condition for Technician and Graduate Apprentice categories: only those candidates who have passed the diploma or graduate qualifying examination within five years from the last date of application, that is 06 April 2026, will be eligible to apply through the NATS 2.0 route. Candidates already undergoing apprenticeship, candidates who have already completed apprenticeship under the Apprentices Act in any Government, PSU or private organization, and candidates who absconded from previous apprenticeship training are not eligible.

The selection process is merit based and simple, but candidates should not treat it casually. NPCIL has specified that preference will first be given to applicants belonging to neighbouring villages within a 16 km radius of the plant site. If the available apprentice seats in a particular trade or discipline are not filled by eligible local applicants, then a merit list will be prepared from other applicants on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying ITI, diploma or graduation course. In case of a tie in percentage, the candidate born earlier will be placed higher. If the date of birth is also the same, then the candidate having higher percentage in Matriculation will be placed above the other candidate. After shortlisting, candidates will have to undergo document verification. Because Kakrapar Gujarat Site is a highly protected area, selected apprentices will also have to submit police verification and a character/conduct certificate. Engagement is additionally subject to being found medically fit by the competent authority as per NPCIL requirements.

The application process has two stages and many applicants make mistakes here, so candidates should read this part carefully. First, eligible Trade Apprentice candidates must register themselves on the NAPS 2.0 portal at apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Eligible Technician Apprentice and Graduate Apprentice candidates must register themselves on the NATS 2.0 portal at nats.education.gov.in. Candidates must ensure that their Aadhaar is seeded with their bank account. After registration, candidates have to download the prescribed application form (Annexure-1) from the official NPCIL Opportunities page, fill it properly, paste a recent passport-size photograph, sign it, and send it by post with self-attested copies of all required documents to Deputy Manager (HRM), Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, Kakrapar Gujarat Site, Anumala-394651, Ta. Vyara, Dist. Tapi, Gujarat. The application should reach on or before 06 April 2026. Important enclosures include proof of date of birth, educational marksheets and certificates, caste/EWS/PwBD certificates where applicable, police verification certificate, character certificate, Aadhaar, four recent passport-size photographs, local residential proof if living within 16 km radius, NAPS/NATS registration copy, and CGPA-to-percentage conversion proof if marks are awarded in CGPA or grading format.

Overall, NPCIL Kakrapar Apprentice Recruitment 2026 is a strong opportunity for ITI, diploma and graduate candidates who want PSU-backed apprenticeship training with clear stipend and officially notified discipline-wise vacancies. Candidates should apply only after confirming trade/discipline eligibility, age limit, document readiness, NAPS/NATS registration, and postal submission timeline. Since the notification is detailed and document-based, candidates should avoid relying on short social media summaries and instead submit their form exactly in the format prescribed by NPCIL.
