⏳ Age Limit

The maximum age limit for Guest Faculty positions is typically 70 years as mentioned in the notification.

However, preference is usually given to younger candidates in the early stages of their academic career for building long-term association with the institution. Generally:

  • Fresh Ph.D. holders or recent NET/SET qualifiers are encouraged to apply
  • Experienced faculty members and retired professors below 70 years can also apply

Essential Educational Qualifications

Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and University of Delhi for appointment as Guest Faculty/Assistant Professor in management disciplines:

Minimum Qualification (Any One):

Option A: NET/SET Qualified in Management

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration/Management/Commerce with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade)
  • Qualified in UGC-NET (Management/Commerce) conducted by NTA
  • OR
  • Qualified in SET (State Eligibility Test) in Management/Commerce conducted by any state

Option B: Ph.D. Degree Holders

  • Master's Degree in Management/Business Administration/Commerce with at least 55% marks
  • Ph.D. degree in Management/Business Administration or related field from a recognized university
  • Ph.D. must be awarded as per UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009 or 2016

Option C: Ph.D. awarded before 2009

  • Master's Degree in Management with at least 55% marks
  • Ph.D. degree awarded prior to September 19, 2009 (exempted from NET/SET requirement as per UGC norms)

Relaxation for Reserved Categories:

  • SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD candidates: 5% relaxation in marks at Master's level (i.e., 50% instead of 55%)
  • Relaxation is as per UGC regulations and University of Delhi norms

API (Academic Performance Indicator) Requirement

As per University of Delhi norms, candidates must have an API score of 55 and above calculated based on:

  • Teaching, learning, and evaluation-related activities
  • Co-curricular and extension activities
  • Research and academic contributions

The API score will be calculated during the interview based on self-assessment form submission.

Selection Process

The selection for Guest Faculty positions involves a comprehensive evaluation process:

Stage 1: Registration and Document Verification

Upon arrival at the college, candidates will undergo registration and document verification. The screening committee will verify:

Stage 2: API Score Calculation

Candidates must score a minimum of 55 API points to be eligible for interview. The API score will be verified against supporting documents.

Shortlisted candidates will be required to deliver a demonstration lecture (15-20 minutes) on a topic assigned by the selection panel. This assesses:

Terms of Engagement

Remuneration:

Nature of Appointment:

  • Purely temporary and on lecture-by-lecture basis
  • No employer-employee relationship
  • Engagement for academic session 2025-26 only

  • No claim for regularization or permanent appointment

Teaching Workload:
