⚠️ **Important:** This application period ended on 2026-02-25. Please check the new jobs list below.
State: West Bengal |
Last Date: 2026-02-25
The West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board (WBKVIB), an autonomous organization under the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises & Textiles, Government of West Bengal, has announced a unique recruitment initiative for 14 Group-A Officer and Group-B Head Clerk cum Accountant positions through walk-in interview scheduled for 25 February 2026. This special recruitment drive, notified vide Advertisement No. 180/ESTB(22)/22-23, is exclusively designed for retired personnel from Government Departments, Autonomous Bodies, Local Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Statutory Bodies, and Government Undertakings who possess valuable experience and expertise in administration, accounts, finance, and organizational management.
The West Bengal Khadi and Village Industries Board was established with the noble objective of promoting, developing, and implementing programs related to Khadi and Village Industries across West Bengal. The organization works towards economic empowerment of rural artisans, weavers, and craftsmen by providing them with training, raw materials, modern technology, marketing support, and financial assistance. WBKVIB operates numerous Khadi centers, production units, training centers, and sales outlets throughout the state, playing a vital role in preserving traditional handicrafts while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for thousands of rural families. The Board implements various Central and State Government schemes including Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Market Promotion & Development Assistance (MPDA), and other rural entrepreneurship initiatives.
This recruitment initiative specifically targets retired government employees who have already served the nation with dedication and possess extensive practical experience in government functioning, financial management, office administration, and regulatory compliance. The decision to engage retired personnel on contractual basis is strategic, as these experienced professionals can contribute immediately without requiring extensive training, bring institutional memory and knowledge of government procedures, provide mentorship to younger staff, and ensure smooth functioning of administrative and financial operations. The engagement is on a consolidated honorarium basis ranging from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 15,000 per month depending on the position and last drawn pay of the retired employee.
The 14 positions are distributed across two categories: Group-A Officer positions (approximately 8-10 posts) and Group-B Head Clerk cum Accountant positions (approximately 4-6 posts). Group-A Officers will be responsible for overseeing district-level operations, implementing schemes, coordinating with artisan groups and self-help organizations, monitoring production and sales activities, conducting inspections, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with government guidelines. Group-B Head Clerk cum Accountants will handle financial transactions, maintain accounts books, prepare financial statements, process bills and payments, manage payroll, coordinate with banks, and assist in audit processes. These positions are crucial for strengthening WBKVIB operational efficiency and expanding its outreach across West Bengal districts.
The engagement will initially be for a period of one year (12 months), extendable annually based on performance evaluation and organizational requirements. Selected retired employees must be physically and mentally fit to undertake field visits, office work, and other assigned duties. The upper age limit is 63 years as on the date of walk-in, ensuring that relatively younger retirees who have recently superannuated and are in good health can contribute effectively. This opportunity is particularly suitable for retired personnel from departments such as Finance, Revenue, Panchayat & Rural Development, MSME, Industries, Cooperative, Agriculture, and other related sectors who understand rural development dynamics and have experience in implementing government schemes. The walk-in interview will assess candidates based on their service record, experience in relevant fields, communication skills, and willingness to work in rural and semi-urban areas. Interested eligible retired government employees are invited to attend the walk-in interview on 25 February 2026 at the WBKVIB Head Office, Kolkata, with all original service documents and retirement papers.
