Haryana Police Constable Reopen Form 2026 - Apply Online for 5500 Posts till 19 March
Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) has reopened the online application window for Haryana Police Constable Recruitment 2026 against Advertisement No. 01/2026. This recruitment covers 5,500 posts in the Police Department of Haryana and includes Male Constable (General Duty), Female Constable (General Duty), and Male Constable (Government Railway Police) categories. The original advertisement was published on 01 January 2026 and invited applications from CET Group-C qualified candidates. A later public notice dated 16 March 2026 granted another opportunity to candidates who could not apply earlier and also allowed already submitted forms to be edited or updated between 16 March 2026 and 19 March 2026 (11:59 PM).

This reopen notice is important because it was issued after the Haryana Government revised the annual family income limit for EWS category in the state from Rs. 6,00,000 to Rs. 8,00,000. HSSC has specifically stated that candidates who edit their already submitted application must upload the required supporting documents and also re-upload the PDF of the signed edited application form. If that final signed edited PDF is not re-uploaded, the previously submitted information will continue to be treated as valid for the recruitment process. In simple terms, candidates should not assume that changing details on-screen alone is enough; the re-upload step is mandatory if modifications are made.

The underlying recruitment itself remains one of the biggest constable-level openings in Haryana for 2026. The official advertisement provides a breakup of 4,500 posts for Male Constable (General Duty), 600 posts for Female Constable (General Duty), and 400 posts for Male Constable in Government Railway Police. Essential qualification for all three categories is 10+2 from a recognized board or institution, along with Hindi or Sanskrit up to Matric standard or higher education. The advertisement also makes it clear that no extra weightage is to be given for higher educational qualification beyond the prescribed criteria. Candidates must also be CET Group-C qualified, as the recruitment is being processed through that framework.

The selection process is structured and should be explained clearly in any public job listing. HSSC will first call candidates on the basis of CET merit for Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Screening Test (PST), both of which are qualifying in nature. The PST includes a race of 2.5 km in 12 minutes for male candidates, 1.0 km in 6 minutes for female candidates, and 1.0 km in 5 minutes for ex-servicemen. Physical standards for height and chest are also prescribed in the official notice, with category-wise relaxations for eligible reserved candidates. After qualifying PMT and PST, candidates are shortlisted for the Knowledge Test, which carries 97% weightage and is conducted in objective MCQ format. Additional weightage of up to 3 marks is available for NCC certificates. The paper is bilingual and includes general studies, science, current affairs, reasoning, mental aptitude, numerical ability, computer basics and Haryana-specific knowledge.

For candidates, the practical takeaway is straightforward: this reopen window is short, the form must be completed carefully, and there is no fee for applying against the posts advertised under Advt. 01/2026. Because the notice explicitly says no further chance for filling or editing the form will be given, applicants should not wait until the last hours. Those who had applied under older withdrawn / earlier advertisements should carefully read the official instructions and apply afresh wherever required. A high-quality job page should therefore present this not merely as β€œforms reopened,” but as a time-sensitive final correction-and-submission opportunity for a major Haryana Police constable recruitment.
