Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India is set to release the India Post GDS Result 2026 (First Merit List) at indiapostgdsonline.gov.in.
The result covers 28,636 Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) vacancies across 23 postal circles in India. There is no written examination – candidates are selected purely on the basis of Class 10 (Matriculation) marks computed up to 4 decimal places.
The merit list is released circle-wise and post-wise in PDF format. Shortlisted candidates must appear for Document Verification (DV) with original certificates.

How to Check India Post GDS Merit List 2026?
- Visit the official portal: indiapostgdsonline.gov.in
- On the homepage, select your Postal Circle from the dropdown or list
- Click on the merit list link for your circle
- The PDF will open – press Ctrl + F and enter your 7-digit Registration Number
- If your name appears, note the DV date, venue, and documents required
- Download and save the merit list PDF for future reference
