AIIMS Raipur Senior Resident Recruitment 2026 - 88 Posts, Apply Online
All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur has released Advertisement No. 9/327/2026/Recruit./Reg./AIIMSRPR/760 dated 13 March 2026 for recruitment to the post of Senior Resident (Non-Academic) in various departments under the Government of India Residency Scheme. This is an important opportunity for doctors who have already completed or are completing their postgraduate qualification in the relevant specialty and are seeking institutional residency experience in a central government medical institute. AIIMS Raipur has clearly stated that applications are invited from Indian nationals for tenure appointments up to three years, subject to the rules of the residency scheme. The online application window opened on 14 March 2026 and closes on 24 March 2026. Unlike many recruitments that allow simple portal registration only, this notice requires candidates to submit the duly filled application through Google Form and also attach the prescribed application proforma made available on the institute website.

The official notice gives a salary structure of Rs. 67,700 at Level-11, Cell No. 01 as per the 7th CPC, along with usual allowances including NPA wherever applicable. For medical candidates comparing central institute opportunities, this is one of the most important details because the institute has advertised positions across several clinical and non-clinical departments. The front page of the advertisement mentions 88 posts with category breakup UR-23, OBC-27, SC-20, ST-09 and EWS-09, including 3 posts for PwBD. However, Annexure-A of the same official advertisement lists the department-wise breakup and its grand total comes to 87. Candidates should therefore rely on the institute website for any correction, addendum or clarificatory notice issued after the advertisement. In practical terms, applicants should treat this recruitment as one where the official department-wise breakup matters most and keep checking the AIIMS Raipur vacancy page for updates.

The minimum essential qualification is a postgraduate medical degree such as MD, MS, DNB or Diploma in the concerned discipline from a recognised university or institute. The notice separately states that for the School of Public Health, the required qualification is MD or DNB in Community Medicine or PSM from a recognised university or institute. The institute has also clarified that age and qualification or experience will be counted as on the date of interview, and only those candidates who have been declared successful in the qualifying degree examination and who will be completing or are likely to complete their tenure on or before the date of interview will be eligible. Candidates whose qualifying result is declared after the interview will not be considered. This is an important compliance point because AIIMS residencies often receive applications from final-year candidates who assume provisional appearance is enough. The notice makes it clear that completion and declaration status matter.

The upper age limit is 45 years, and the advertisement further specifies age relaxation under Government of India norms. The maximum permissible relaxation is 5 years for SC and ST candidates, 3 years for OBC candidates, 10 years for PwBD candidates belonging to the General category, 13 years for PwBD candidates belonging to OBC, and 15 years for PwBD candidates belonging to SC or ST. Ex-servicemen are also eligible for relaxation as per Government of India instructions. For reserved category candidates, AIIMS Raipur has additionally given certificate rules. OBC-NCL candidates must produce a valid non-creamy-layer certificate based on financial year 2024-25, and the date of issue must be on or after 01 April 2025. EWS candidates must furnish a valid EWS certificate for 2025-26, also issued on or after 01 April 2025. SC and ST certificates must be from the competent authority in the prescribed format. These details matter because applications often get rejected not for qualification, but for invalid certificate date or wrong certificate format.

The application process is slightly more technical than a normal portal form. The candidate has to submit the duly filled application through the Google Form link notified in the advertisement and must also fill the application proforma available on the AIIMS Raipur website and attach the same with the Google Form. Only the prescribed online mode will be accepted. A non-refundable application fee is also required. General, OBC and EWS candidates must pay Rs. 1,000 through online or digital mode, specifically by NEFT to the bank account provided in the advertisement. Women candidates, SC, ST, PwBD and Ex-servicemen are exempted from payment of fee. The advertisement even gives the bank details for payment, including Bank of India, Tatibandh branch, AIIMS Raipur account, and the IFSC code. Candidates working in Central Government, State Government, Semi-Government or Autonomous institutions must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview. Self-attested copies of qualification, age proof, caste or EWS certificates and other relevant documents should be attached with the application and originals must be produced during interview.

Selection is not based on fee payment and form submission alone. AIIMS Raipur states that the Search-cum-Selection Committee may shortlist candidates on the basis of educational qualification, experience and other parameters. If a large number of applications are received, the institute may conduct a written or screening test, either computer-based or offline, for shortlisting. The written test, if held, will be conducted in Raipur only. Eligible candidate lists, interview dates and timings will be published on the official website; no separate individual communication should be assumed. The department-wise breakup in Annexure-A includes posts in Anaesthesia, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Burns and Plastic Surgery, CTVS, Clinical Haematology, Community and Family Medicine, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Gastroenterology, General Medicine, General Surgery, Medical Oncology, Microbiology, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Nuclear Medicine, Orthopaedics, Paediatric Surgery, Paediatrics, Pharmacology, PMR, Physiology, Radiation Oncology, Radio Diagnosis, School of Public Health, Surgical Gastroenterology, Surgical Oncology, Transfusion Medicine and Blood Bank, Trauma and Emergency, and Urology. Candidates applying for clinical departments may also appear for Trauma and Emergency subject to willingness. The practical takeaway is that applicants should read the department list carefully, use the prescribed form only, attach fee proof where applicable, and keep checking the AIIMS Raipur website for the final shortlist, screening test notice and interview schedule.
